Rebecca Romijn’s Diet and Exercise Routine: Keep Yourself Motivated

Dutch American actress Rebecca Romijn is a proud mother of two girls, but after that 2008 pregnancy, she found herself having difficulty in losing her 60-pound weight gain. Turning to good eating and exercise habits, the stunning model and covergirl finally shed the extra weight, revealing a lean and toned body perfect for the beach.

”I try to break a sweat every day." She says. "That’s my goal."

Rebecca-Romijn.jpgRebecca Romijn’s diet is the famous zone eating plan wherein there is balanced ratio of carbohydrates (40%), fat (30%) and proteins (30%) in every prepared meal to maintain balance in the body’s hormones.Those who follow this diet are encouraged to have maximum calories of 500 per meal, and 100 calories for snacks.

The zone diet encourages intake of fresh, leafy green vegetables, fruits, nuts, ample amounts of protein, plus eight glasses of water every day.

On the other hand, to keep her motivated and for her routine to fit into her busy schedule, Rebecca’s exercises early in the morning. Rebecca Romijn’s exercise routine consistently includes 30 minutes of cardio workouts using the elliptical trainer. She’s also been doing Pilates for approximately 8 years now and continues to do it today or 3 to 4 times per week to keep her body well-toned.

Instead of working out alone, Rebecca also enjoys hiking in nearby hills along with her rescue dogs, or sometimes, does tandem bicycle rides with husband and actor, Jerry O’Connell. 

"We try to keep exercise fun." She shares. "We do a lot of stuff together, it’s good to motivate each other."
