Health & Motivation

How many do you spend at a desk? 6, 8, or more? How many of these hours do you stay on your chair with your eyes staring at the monitor of your computer. You need to relax. The good news is that you don’t have to leave the office for too long to relax in just a few minutes.

The medic recommends that after each hour spent in front of your computer monitor to take a 5 minute break. And here is how you can use the breaks for the maximum effect:

-the break means getting away from the computer. It doesn’t mean to stay and chat with your lover on a chat window. So get up from your chair and step out of the office, preferable take a fresh breath of air.

-stretch! You stay all day in the same position. Your muscles need movement. Turn your head to the sides, stretch your neck. Use slow movements and do it 10 times.

-spin your arms back and foreword. Lift your arms above your head letting your arms reach as high as possible. Stay in that position for 10 to 20 seconds.

-while sited stretch your arms above your head, in your back and arch your back. That way you assume a position that will be the opposite of the position that you assume all day long.

-staying on your feet, bend forward with your arms down, trying to reach the floor with the tip of your hand, without bending your knees. Probably you won’t be able to do it but try to stay in that position for 10 to 20 seconds.

-jump! Maybe it may seem strange to you, but when you stay on the same chair all that time you have huge energy deposits that are unused. If you feel too energetic you can jump a couple of times, till you get a little tired. Remember the childhood games that you used to play. They might be useful now.

Breath deep! In front of an open window, but if there is a lot of smog outside then better not. Open up your arms 10 times before you start the relaxation exercises and 10 times after you finish them.

At the ending look yourself in a mirror and tell yourself “I got the power” and get back to your desk. You are ready for another 55 minutes of work thanks to the minute long relaxation exercises form above/
