Blood Type Diet: Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type

For the past several decades, researchers have identified over 1,000 common foods that contain powerful proteins called lectins. Here’s the key: The food lectins become active and when you eat a food containing protein lectins incompatible with your blood type, teh lectins target an organ and begin to agglutinate blood cells in that area.

 This is the theory in which renowned naturopathic physician Peter D’Amo based the Blood Type Diet. In his best-selling book Eat right 4 Your Type, he claims that peole fare better in weight management when they tailor their diet to their specific blood types.

Diets based on blood type suggests that whether you belong to A, B, AB or O, this will determine your dietary needs and will dictate how your body digests food and burns calories.

  • Type O Blood Group: The hunters– The diet recommends that people with this blood group should eat a high protein diet and only consume small amounts of grains and dairy.
  • Type A Blood Group: The cultivators Individuals with this blood type should consume lots of grains and vegetables, with very liited amounts of meat and dairy, a more vegetarian approach.
  • Type B Blood Group: The nomads– According to D’amo, these individuals are associated with a strong and flexible immune and digestive system. The diet claims people with this blood type can consume most foods in moderation, but breads and pastas are slightly limited.
  • Type AB Blood Group: The enigma– In terms of dietary needs, individuals born with Type AB blood are allowed gluten, red meat and dairy, but should not consume any wheat.

The Blood Type Diet is all baout the restoration of the body’s natural geentic rhythm. In general, the concept of the Blood Type Diet is pretty straightforward. Determine your blood type, follow your prescribed diet for that plan, exercise and you’re on your way to weight loss and a healthy immune system.
