In the crucial times, like in the morning, when you go to the gym or for women during menstruation, all your good weight loss intentions and ambitions will fly out the window. The stomach usually wins in asking its rights. To help you fight such moments read the following tips:

Before going to the gym eat something light. If you head straight to the gym after work you will feel the need to snack on something. A biscuit or a light salad will give you the energy boost you need to have a good workout. You could also eat for lunch a banana or some milk with cereals. That way you won’t feel hungry while exercising. You will have all the energy you need to carry out the workout to its end.

It is important to drink water before exercising because while working out you will lose a lot of water. If you won’t drink enough water or other liquids your concentration will be affected and you will get dehydrated. It is recommended to drink 8 cups of water daily. You should drink half a cup of water while exercising to optimize the results.


Women during menstruation usually feel a burning desire for fattening forbidden foods. They are more tempted by chocolate and cakes. Studies have showed that women eat with 500 calories more while menstruating than on a usual day. This is due to the fact that women need more energy, iron, magnesium, vitamin B and fatty acids.

Avoid eating in front of the television. The environment in which you eat influences your appetite and diet. Having your attention distracted from food while eating is dangerous. Eating junk food while sitting in front of the television is a sure way to overeat and get fat.

The best eating habit is to always eat at the table. Avoid eating while sitting on the sofa, or at the computer. Eat in a quiet place where you can concentrate only on eating slowly your meal. That way you will eat less food and you will also feel full faster.

If you want to snack on something while watching a movie eat some fruits. Or drink a glass of milk or a cup of tea. Many times we think we are hungry when in fact we are thirsty. So before opening the fridge drink something and wait a couple of minutes.
