Most women stay away from weight lifting because they are afraid. Women are afraid that by doing strength training exercises they will experience massive muscle growth. And a muscle packed women that can break a man in two isn’t sexy in our modern society. I don’t think that big bulging muscles on a women were ever sexy.

But the truth about female muscle growth is that women have a harder time than men when it comes to gaining more muscle mass. Women can strengthen their muscles but their size just doesn’t grow as much in the case of men. Why is this happening.

Women have just a small quantity of testosterone in their body and lots of estrogen. Testosterone is the key factor determining how much muscle mass you can pack. The more testosterone you have the more muscle mass you can gain. Since women have a low quantity of testosterone it is very hard for them to get bulging muscles and experience ugly female muscle growth.

The fact of the matter is that if you are a woman with a high level of testosterone you probably have bigger problems than exaggerated muscle growth due to exercising. One of them would be a mustache and a beard that could rival any man’s. You would basically start looking more masculine and your body would behave in a more masculine way.

Taking the above mentioned fact into consideration you should really make it a point to go to a gym and do some strength training exercises. If you can’t go to the gym buy some adjustable dumbbells and exercise at home. Strength training exercises are the best weight loss exercises that you can do. They are also awesome for making sure you keep your weight. Why you might ask? Because strength training exercises help speed up your metabolism, helping you burn more calories.

While doing strength training you don’t burn that many calories, but once the exercise is over your body is still burning lots of calories because of them. This extended caloric burning makes strength training so effective at melting the fat away.

You also get to strengthen your muscles, making them leaner and more dense. Muscles need more energy which in turn forces your body to burn more calories. Lean muscles also help reduce your waist size, helping you fit in more sexy clothes easily.

So if you are a woman and you have been avoiding strength training exercises because you feared abnormal female muscle growth, you have nothing to fear. In fact you only stand to gain. Gain leaner muscles and a more smoking hot body. Now go hit that gym.
