The Ayurveda Kapha diet

The ayurvedic kapha type tend to eat a lot. That is why the best solution for a balanced diet are foods that have a low caloric content but a high fiber content. You should pick aliments that have fewer proteins and sugars but that are rich in vitamins. The Kapha ayurvedic type has to learn to eat small meals but very often. Even if they don’t have an appetite in the morning , ideally you should try to have a light snack at around 10 o’clock.

Kaphas tend to eat a lot during the night. That is why it’s recommended not to schedule your dinner later than 20.00 o’clock. For weigh loss fasting is the recommended method. Pick one day every week when you will keep a strict diet. And please avoid emotional eating when you get into some tougher times.

The foods recommended for the Kapha ayurvedic type are: cabbage, broccoli, cucumbers, onions, peppers, spices, soy based food, oat flakes, rye flakes, wheat flakes, kiwi, oranges, lemon and grapefruit juices.

The foods that aren’t recommended for Kaphas are: white break, sweetened cereals, very sweet fruits (like bananas, grapes, cherries), dried fruits (figs, dates), nuts and peanuts, fatty cheese, sour cream, butter, non fat free milk, mayo.
