Celebrity Weight Loss

We’re endeared to her wearing labcoats as Dr. Elliot Reid on the NBC/ABC comedy Scrubs, but Actress Sarah Chalke also looks darn good in a bikini — with her great curves and tight abs. Here, she spills on her secret to owning and maintaining that fit figure, while having that pie and eating it, too.

"I was a very sporty kid growing up. I tried out for volleyball, tried out for basketball, any sports team." She recalls with a laugh. "But I ended up joining racewalking, which may sound very nerdy but is actually very physically demanding."

"I was also raised to eat the good-for-you foods. So that’s how I eat now. I love really, really healthy stuff." Sarah says. "But I wouldn’t say no to dessert. A little treat from time to time is good."

On a typical day, Sarah Chalke’s diet plan includes:

  • Breakfast: spinach and goat cheese omelette with whole-grain toast.
  • Lunch: salad with chicken and butternut squash soup
  • Dinner: grilled salmon with rice and vegetables and pumpkin pie.
  • Snack: Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.

For Sarah Chalke’s exercise routine, she does yoga, hiking and jogging to keep her healthy and fit.

She claims, “I have to vary it up; otherwise I’d get bored. So I combine yoga and hiking. I go out with my dog — and we have a gym at the hospital where we shoot. You can go out there and work out if you have a break.”

Sarah Chalke’s exercise routine also includes Xflowsion, a blend of martial arts, yoga, and power dance.

“There’s so much variety that an hour and 15 minutes just flies by and you never get bored. It incorporates a lot of yoga, which improves your flexibility and your strength, and then you get to do boxing. That’s my favorite part, because it’s such a great release. I feel so much stronger now, and I definitely have lots of energy.”
