One will certainly agree without a doubt that Van Wilder and Blade Trinity star Ryan Reynolds makes being in show business look fun. With his wholesome, fun demeanor and ripped physique, his body is something only poets dream about, and that’s probably one of the reasons he was named Sexiest Man Alive for year 2010, proving his male sex symbol status in Tinseltown. Here, the 6 foot 2 tall and ultra-likable hunk shares his tips for that finely-chiseled body of his.

Ryan Reynolds’ diet includes eating 6 small meals every 2 to 3 hours instead of eating three large meals daily. With this, he’s able to provide his body with the right amount of food and at the same time, avoids the storage of fat.

Most of the time, he cooks his own meals and prepares them in advance such as making Irish steel-cut oatmeal and freeze it. Furthermore, he eats carbohydrates after working out but never passed eight in the evening.

He also takes creatine, L-glutamine, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), and whey multivitamins.

An example of Ryan Reynolds’ diet plan on a typical day includes the following meals:

  • Breakfast: 1/2 cup of egg whites, 1 cup of sugarless oatmeal, some “good” fat like a spoon of almond butter or slice of avocado.
  • Midmorning snack: protein bar
  • Lunch: albacore tuna wrap or chicken and salad
  • Mid-afternoon snack: protein bar, protein shake (whey and water) or apple and almonds
  • Dinner: broiled fish or chicken, brown rice, vegetables, and salad
  • Evening Snack: protein shake

On the other hand, Ryan Reynolds’ exercise routine includes doing abs exercises because he finds it very helpful to keep himself well-motivated to continue with his routine. He does 500 to 1000 sit-ups a day since he claims that the lower abs is among the most difficult muscles to develop in one’s body. To achieve this, Ryan use exercise balls between his legs and then lift the ball up and down while utilizing his to anchor himself. He also utilized a 15 pound dumb-bell between his feet and did leg raises while lying on the ground.

Ryan Reynolds’ exercise routine also includes lifting heavy weights to build up his mass with 8 to 12 repetitions every set. He trained 6 times a week and allotted one day to work out one muscle.

He also shares, “If you hate your workout, you’re not going to do it. So you have to find something that you enjoy, a wokout that won’t feel like such a bore.”
