Matt Damon rose from obscurity to fame when he co-wrote and co-starred in the movie Good Will Hunting with good friend and fellow hunk, Ben Affleck. They both garnered an Academy Award for Original Screenplay, and since then, Matt’s famous crooked smile, perfect pearly whites and ripped physique has been gracing the silver screen countless times, from The Bourne Trilogy, Dogma, Saving Private Ryan and Ocean’s 11, 12 and 13, to the delight of moviegoers both young and old. Here, the 5 foot 10, 40 year old actor shares his tips for maintaining that ultra-lean and toned bod.

"I’m no stranger to the gym, I like to be in shape and I work out regularly." He says. 

Matt-Damon.jpgMatt Damon’s diet is both adhered to a balanced diet and low carbohydrate diet. The low carbohydrate diet involves the cutting off all carbohydrates from his diet while increasing the intake of protein and fat.

This means Matt Damon’s diet is free from any meals with pasta, bread, rice and alcohol in it. 

For Matt Damon’s exercise routine, he does weight lifting then is vital in building up his muscles or body frame. He does squats, jump squats, barbell rows, bench press, pull ups, and dumbbell shoulder press.

Matt Damon’s exercise also includes cardiovascular training that is done 2 to 3 times per week in which he prefers doing this when not lifting weights or after his weight lifting session.

Cardiovascular training helps in shedding off fats that keeps the body well toned. Matt Damon’s favorite cardio exercises is boxing and hits heavy bags or speed bags which he considers is a terrific exercise. Heavy bag exercises the shoulders, arms while keeping the cardiac rate up burning fats more.
