Blue-eyed American actress Gillian Anderson plays a sultry skeptic as X-files‘ Dana Scully, but her own journey has been of one striving to keep fit and finding contentment. The striking and blatantly girlish star has an ethereal beauty about her, and nothing about Gillian can be described as simple.

"I always feel like I have to accomplish something." She says. "That’s why I sought out being healthy. I love the feeling."

"You don’t have to give up anything, that’s the good part." She says with a smile. "It’s all about balance. You have to think about moderation."

Gillian Anderson’s exercise routine includes water sports like swimming to keep her in shape. She has been swimming for a great deal of her childhood as part of her school’s swimming team. She also does yoga to strengthen her muscles and  increase her flexibility.

"Yoga has so many benefits. I love that I get to meditate. It’s my stress buster." Gillian says. "Automatically, I can feel the shift in my body, it leaves me euphoric."
