3 Stress Signs and Symptoms

Health & Motivation

You rested well during the night, but in the morning you barely manage to get out of the bed and go to the office. The way seems endless, and when you finally get there it is like you want to make yourself invisible. Not because you are not conscious, but you actually do not feel able to deal with problems and tasks that have to be taken care off. And when the end of the day finally comes, you’re completely exhausted. Does this scenario sound familiar?

If your answer is yes, one possible explanation could be that the level of stress you are exposed to far exceeded the limit. Even if you’re a strong woman or man, no one is immune to stress. And it does not mater what personality you have or the job that you have, and not even the responsibilities, the stress will still “hunt” you down.

Of course the problems do not arise suddenly, there are some red flags that you have to be aware of because if you do not the situation will deteriorate and extend to all the aspects of your life. Here are the most common and at the same time, the most important clues.

Stress sign and symptom 1: loss of motivation

If you do not feel like you can find enthusiasm and the will to live, things that made who you were, it is normal for your performance to be in decline and for the interests any activity that you enjoyed before to stop.

Solution: learn to self-manage. At work, get involved in a project that you like and where you can set a goal, an objective to pursue. In parallel, keep in mind what you like to do in your spare time: read a good book, go to the movies, do some shopping, or fitness (spring came and it is known that sport helps us maintain our form – including the psychological one, because it stimulates the secretion of serotonin and endorphins – the so called " happiness hormones ").

Stress sign and symptom 2: you tend to highlight the negative aspects of everyday life

This happens, regardless of the situation: at work, home, with your friends … Your can either react with frustration (you feel that you are not competent and you can not handle work and home), or with anger. None of this is at all appropriate – and, indeed, it is not correct.

Solution: First, realize what is expected of you. Probably nothing in addition to a few months ago, only that recently they overwhelmed you. If necessary, discuss it with your partner and agree you will somehow redistribute the tasks (e.g. he can help the kids with their homework).

Stress sign and symptom 3: physical exhaustion

If you reached this stage, the situation is more than worrisome. The most prevalent symptoms are headaches, pain in the heart and over-medication (incentives and, also, sleeping pills).

Solution: Do not smile sadly when we tell you that you must take care of yourself more. Rest for at least seven hours each night, do sports (even a simple evening walk will help you sleep much better), do not skip breakfast and eat as many fruits and vegetables as you can.
